What TroutSpy provides

TroutSpy is an informational fishing-planning service. It uses weather forecasts, mapped water geometry and heuristic models to suggest fishing opportunity, starting areas, depth, method, retrieve and timing. Recommendations are estimates, not guarantees of fish location, catches, access, safety, bathymetry or weather accuracy.

Angling rules and safety

You remain responsible for checking fishery rules, licences and permits, seasons, access rights, private land, boat rules, weather warnings, water conditions and personal safety. Do not rely on TroutSpy where doing so could create a safety risk. A map pin does not establish a right of access.

Estimated water temperature and third-party data

Any estimated surface-water temperature is modelled rather than measured and can differ materially from actual water conditions. Weather, map, search and payment functions depend on third-party services and may occasionally be delayed, unavailable or inaccurate.

Free and Pro accounts

A free signed-in account can save one water. TroutSpy Pro currently unlocks the top five ranked fishing areas, detailed 24-hour opportunity information, the 10-day outlook, detailed hourly method/depth/retrieve information, multiple saved waters, the cloud-synced catch log and an ad-free experience. Features may evolve, but we will not deliberately remove the core paid service during a paid period without a reasonable product or legal reason.

Advertising on the free service

The free version of TroutSpy may display third-party advertising, including Google AdSense. Advertising does not influence TroutSpy recommendations. TroutSpy Pro is intended to be ad-free once Pro entitlement is verified. Advertising availability and format can vary by country, consent choice and advertising-provider policy.

Subscription price, renewal and access

TroutSpy Pro is offered at the price and billing interval shown immediately before checkout. The current standard plans are £3.99 monthly and £24.99 annually. Unless checkout expressly shows another currency, charges are made in GBP. Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically at the applicable recurring price until renewal is cancelled. Pro access starts after successful payment and normally continues until the end of the paid billing period.

You can cancel automatic renewal from your signed-in TroutSpy account. Cancellation at period end stops the next charge while allowing Pro access to continue through the period already paid for. Where available, Stripe's billing portal can also be used for payment-method and subscription management.

Consumer cancellation rights

If you buy as a consumer, mandatory consumer-law rights that apply in your country are not excluded by these terms. UK consumers may have a statutory cooling-off/cancellation right for an online service. Before Stripe Checkout, TroutSpy asks you to expressly request Pro access to begin immediately after successful payment; the request is recorded against your signed-in account and purchase session. If you wish to exercise an applicable statutory cancellation right, email contact@airbornemedia.co.uk or use our simple cancellation form.

Refunds and billing problems

If you believe a payment was taken in error, a duplicate payment occurred, or you wish to exercise a statutory cancellation/refund right, contact us promptly. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory statutory rights.

International availability and taxes

TroutSpy can be offered to customers outside the United Kingdom where Stripe and applicable law allow. Tax treatment can depend on the customer's country. We may use Stripe or another compliant payment/tax service to calculate, collect or remit applicable taxes, and we may restrict sales in a jurisdiction if we cannot supply there compliantly.

Accounts and acceptable use

You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure. Do not misuse TroutSpy, attempt to bypass paid-feature controls, interfere with the service, scrape it at a harmful rate, or use it unlawfully. You must be 18 or have a parent/guardian's permission and involvement to purchase Pro.

Catch log and saved data

Signed-in data is stored in cloud infrastructure so it can follow your account across devices. Keep your own copy of any fishing records you consider important. You can delete individual catch-log entries and saved waters from the service.

Intellectual property

The TroutSpy branding, original interface, text and proprietary scoring/recommendation logic remain protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Third-party map and forecast data remain subject to their respective licences. Personal use of TroutSpy does not transfer ownership of the service or its software.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to mandatory consumer law, TroutSpy is a planning aid and is not responsible for fishing outcomes or losses arising solely from treating a forecast, estimated depth, map pin or modelled temperature as certain.

Law and complaints

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, but consumers retain any mandatory protections of the law of their habitual country of residence that cannot lawfully be excluded. Contact us first with complaints so we have an opportunity to resolve them.
